Labour volunteers take a break around some of the bags of litter collected from Kingston Road Recreation Ground

A fantastic community turnout helped local Labour Party volunteers to clear up the pathways and park at Kingston Road Recreation Ground on Sunday 22 March 2026.

In association with Friends of Kingston Road Recreation Ground, Kingston Environment Centre and Glendale, the Kingston Labour Party held the latest of its many volunteer clean up days across the borough’s parks.

The volunteers picked up where they left off from their efforts the previous autumn to help get the park ready for the whole community to enjoy this spring. Trees and foliage were cut back and litter was cleared to make this important local space like new.

At Kingston Labour, we are committed to:

✅ Protecting and maintaining Kingston’s green spaces.
✅ Ensuring all playgrounds are brought up to standard, with inclusive equipment and fully accessible facilities.
✅ Actively bidding for external funding to improve parks and play spaces.
✅ Lobbying for the Community Infrastructure Levy to enhance local playgrounds and parks.

Thank you to every pair of hands that came along to help keep our parks beautiful, safe, and welcoming!
