Labour Launches Free Breakfast Clubs For Schools
24th February 2025
The Labour government has announced the first 750 schools set to offer our new free school breakfast clubs for all primary school children.
Alongside the Mayor of London’s free school meals for all primary children, these clubs will mean children start the day ready to learn, with hungry minds rather than hungry bellies. They’ll also save parents up to £450 each year, while providing valuable childcare at the start of the day.
Taken together, Labour’s free breakfast clubs will boost parents’ work choices and children’s life chances.
That’s not all, the clubs will play a key role as we bear down on the levels of child poverty left behind by the Tories.
Bridget Phillipson MP
Secretary of State for Education: “As co-chair of the Child Poverty Taskforce, I’m determined to give every child the best start in life, no matter their background.”
Under the Tories, these clubs were available in just one in ten primary schools across England. Labour will make them available for all primary children. Labour is delivering on its promises – because every child deserves the best start to their day.
