Kingston Labour Party
17th April 2022
Former Kingston councillors Neil Calvert , Julie Reay, Ed Naylor, Sheila Griffin and the late Linsey Cottington’s husband, David Cottington, have strongly endorsed the three candidates for Labour in Norbiton: Marcela Benedetti, Alex Benn-Amir and Laurie South.

The five former councillors served the residents of Norbiton for more than 50 years between them and they back the current Labour candidates to continue the representation which they feel is so important.
Neil Calvert said: “These are three capable people who will put serving the residents of Norbiton first. I know they will make great councillors.”
David Cottington said: “ Linsey would wholly endorse these three excellent candidates who have pledged to continue the good work she carried out for the people of Norbiton, which included persuading Kingston Council to adopt the London Living Wage, so that hundreds of people benefitted.”
Ed Naylor, a former Mayor of Kingston, remains active with voluntary groups in Norbiton and the wider borough and praised the trio for their work so far. He said: “It’s time our neighbors and residents in this ward had the representation that they deserve. We are very proud of our tradition of Labour councilors here and feel the residents need the support they will get from Marcela, Alex and Laurie.”
Kingston Labour is fielding a full 48 Candidates for the local elections, with a wide range of skills, experience and passions, who want to help and support people in need, and fight to for a better Kingston for all. You can read about them here.
