Patients with the Village surgery in New Malden were shocked to learn that the CQC medical regulator has closed it down, and another surgery has taken over the patients practice. But will this arrangement last? Are there plans to close the surgery down entirely?
It’s difficult to get through to any doctor’s surgery, and the problem will only get worse as more as more flats are built and the population grows.
Labour says “Save the Village surgery, and give New Malden the health care residents need.”
With 12-years of under-funding and growing staff shortages that have plunged the NHS into its deepest-ever crisis, the local impact of the loss of a local surgery would be another huge blow to the local service provision from our precious NHS.
Labour’s Pat Dobson says “Closing this surgery would mean more pressure and even longer waiting times with more patients. Hopefully the new practice will come up to the required standard and will be allowed to remain.”
Labour’s Sean Casey said “Does the Groves have the capacity to provide the caretaking without compromising service to their own patients? When booking appointments there recently, the NHS app suggests a 1 month wait for only a telephone appointment.”
