Labour are fighting to win in Kingston and Surbiton, despite claims to the contrary by the Liberal Democrats. Our party’s policy is to contest every seat.

We consistently engage with and support residents, actively listening to their concerns.

There are a large number of seats that Labour are currently projected to win. In Kingston, we are currently polling ahead of the Tories. Our conversations with voters on the doorstep backs this up.

Labour candidates came second to the Liberal Democrat’s in Kingston Town and Norbiton in the local elections in May 2022, which demonstrates our strong presence in the area.

Labour are very ready to take the Lib Dems on at the polls.

The next election is not a choice between the Conservatives and the Lib Dems, but a choice between Labour and the Lib Dems. The Lib Dems are very uncomfortable with this as it challenges their tired narrative of “Labour can’t win here.”

A recent poll places Kingston and Surbiton as a Labour gain. Our conversations on the doorstep have always revealed significant local support for Labour. This support is now crucial, especially considering the financial difficulties many people in Kingston are facing, including reliance on food banks, struggles to meet living costs, and access to health and social care.

It is clear that only a Labour government can address these pressing issues and begin to repair the damage caused by the Tories and the Lib Dem Coalition. The Tories simply cannot win in Kingston, and it is essential for those who want Labour representation to vote for Labour.

The Liberal Democrats, as part of the coalition government, were complicit in the implementation of austerity measures, including supporting deep cuts to public spending and welfare reforms. They cannot be absolved of their responsibility in supporting and enabling these policies that have brought us to where we are now.

A Labour MP in Kingston will be committed to advancing Labour’s program of national renewal, offering a fresh start for the country’s economic security. They will work tirelessly to implement Labour’s vision to unlock opportunity for all. This includes addressing issues such as housing, access to quality education and healthcare, and creating sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

Labour’s commitment to Kingston goes beyond electoral politics. We understand the importance of addressing the cost of living, improving schools, and growing our economy. Our members actively volunteer with community groups, working towards these goals.

We will never give up on Kingston and will continue to fight for the needs and aspirations of all its residents.
